STORYTELLER’S HUD

The Storyteller’s HUD is the same as the Player’s HUD, but with enhanced capabilities:

  • HUD can create and save any number of NPC Characters, which are stored on the server, allowing all Storytellers to access these saved NPC Characters. Storyteller Character Sheets are manually created and are housed in a special section of the server, apart and separate from Player-Character Character Sheets.

  • NPC Character Sheets on the server can be searched by:
    • Race
    • Class
    • Level

  • The Storyteller will be assigned a Storyteller an alphanumeric designation, which will be used as their SL Name on the Character Sheet.

  • The Storyteller will assign the new character a name, just as he would if he were creating a new Player Character.

  • Special Character Types:The Storyteller’s HUD has additional Character Types in the Drop Down Menu: (Can these be created manually or would they need to be assigned specific attributes/stats on the server?)
    • Undead
    • Ghost
    • Spirit
    • Avatar
    • Elemental
    • Fae
    • Animal

  • No XP Needed: Does not require the use of XP to “purchase” Talents for the NPC.

  • Alter Stats: Has ability to manually change all stats.

  • Alter Mods: Has the ability to alter an NPC’s Modifiers.

  • Select Talents:
    • Standard Character Talents: The Storyteller will select standard character factions as normal (Vampire, Garou, Human, Apex Kinfolk, Gifted Human, Hunters)
    • Special Character Types Talents:The Storyteller will select any three factions, regardless of race affiliation, allowing them to create characters with non-standard skill sets, which then populate into the Talents Section
      • For Example:Selecting Fae as Race, the Storyteller selects
        • Faction 1: Toreador
        • Faction 2: Gifted Human: Telekinesis
        • Faction 3: Garou Theurge
      • This populates the Talents Section with these three associated abilities from which the Storyteller may choose to create his new Fae Character’s modifiers and abilities.
      • The Storyteller may change the Permanent Modifiers of this new Character, adding or subtracting from any of the 8 Mods, as well as alter how many Health Points or Energy Points the new NPC has.
      • Selecting this pre-created Character Sheet from the Storyteller’s HUD will allow the Storyteller to “put on” the NPC, acting, speaking and fighting as the NPC in Local Chat.

  • Storyteller HUD Inventory:
    • Can hold a max of 20 items, without the need for a Backpack.
    • All created NPCs have access to the same Inventory Items.
    • Can only hold non-perishable, reuseable items, such as weapons. No healing.

  • TEMP Points: Temp Points are associated with a specific NPC Character Sheet. Changing NPC Character Sheets automatically readjusts the Temp Points. Temp Points must be Reset or changed manually, just like the Player’s HUD.

  • Health Points and Energy Points: The Storyteller’s HUD displays the Health Points and Energy Points of the current, active NPC Character Sheet. This changes when the Storyteller switches out NPCs.

  • Switching NPCs: This can be done at any time. The HUD can switch out Character Sheets during combat, allowing the Storyteller to create and act as multiple opponents with different abilities, health and energy in the same scene.

  • Communicate with PC HUDS: The Storyteller’s HUD must be able to communicate with PC HUDs to add or subtract both Health Points and Energy Points, addressing circumstantial or situational occurrences that may impact HP and EP that are not associated with Character combat, buffs or debuffs. (Alterations are yelled out in Local Chat. No Storyteller funny business.)
    • Select SL Name
      • Chat Range:(See all SL Names within a 20 meter radius of the Storyteller who are registered with Dominions of Darkness)
        • Select SL Name’s Currently Active Character Sheet
          • The Storyteller can only alter a Player Character’s currently active Character Sheet
          • Storyteller can Add/Subtract:
          • Health Points
          • Energy Points
